Israel the Victim

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Israel planned its current invasion and occupation of Lebanon more than a year in advance:

"By 2004, the military campaign scheduled to last about three weeks that we're seeing now had already been blocked out and, in the last year or two, it's been simulated and rehearsed across the board."

"More than a year ago, a senior Israeli army officer began giving PowerPoint presentations, on an off-the-record basis, to U.S. and other diplomats, journalists and think tanks, setting out the plan for the current operation in revealing detail."

Until the West is prepared to recognise that it is Israel that is the aggressor and that there can be no peace in the region until this Jewish militarist colony, which serves as a US satellite is dismantled. The solution to the Middle East conflict is remarkable simply and always has been: what is required is a single State for all of Palestine's sons and daughters whether they be Muslim, Christian, Jew, etc.

This is far from a pipe dream; it is inevitable: Palestinian Muslims already outnumber Israeli Jews a trend which is likely to continue. The demographic time bomb is the biggest threat to the Jewish state, hence its fondness for genocide.

However, the European Union could, had it the will, resolve this conflict that it in no small part contributes to. The EU could recognise Palestine as a state, decline to sell Israel arms and the tools of oppression; refuse dual citizenship to Israeli citizens; arrest Israeli war criminals when they set foot on European soil; and recognise that Zionism is a racist ideology.

How simple and easily achievable these measures would be, yet the European Union, prefers to perpetuate the myth that Israel is the victim; rather than a perpetrator of heinous acts of barbarity.
