Mel Gibson's anti-Jewish remarks

Mel Gibson:

"The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the World"

How is this anti-Semitic? Anti-Jewish certainly but there is nothing in the statement that appears racist. Judaism is a religion. This is an over-generalisation but it is no more so than, "religions are responsible for all the wars in the World" or "all terrorists are Muslims".

In fact, had he of said "The Zionists are responsible for all the wars in the World" this would not have been an altogether unreasonable overstatement; Zionists certainly are responsible for all the Wars that the United States are fighting at present.
