Freedom of the Press
The United States has long been a critic of Iran's restriction on the press - this despite the fact that the US Gov have asked congress for an additional $75,000,000 to spend on aggressive propaganda to facilitate a coup in Iran - yet the United States today prevented Iranian journalist traveling with president Ahmadinejad, form entering the United States in violation of intenrational law.
According to a treaty signed by Washington with the United Nations, Washington has committed itself "not to impose any impediment" to the entry of officials of UN member countries to its territory to attend conferences of the world body or for UN business.
IRNA Managing Director Ahmad Khademolmelleh said,
"As the host country of the UN, the US is sacrificing goals of the global media by refusing visas to Iranian reporters who were to cover discussions and debates at the 61st annual session of the UN General Assembly"
